I’m having an issue with Apollo’s multilingual support. We have enabled Multilingual Support , but Apollo still systematically replies in French (our main language), regardless of the language used by the visitor. I have also tested the following base Prompt instruction: “Answer in any language" and “Answer in the language of the question”. This does not seem to have any effect.
For example:
Visitor - Hi
Apollo - Bonjour, je suis votre assistant virtuel. Comment puis-je vous aider aujourd’hui ?
Visitor - Can you help me?
Apollo - Bien sûr, je suis là pour vous aider. Que puis-je faire pour vous ?
Apollo only switches language if the visitor explicitly asks something like “Please answer in English.”
This sometimes happens when the business description, instructions, or contextual knowledge materials are written in a language other than English.
The instruction “Answer in any language” is a step in the right direction, but you can expand on it to make the requirement more explicit. For example:
“If the user’s inquiry is in French, answer in French. If the inquiry is in English, answer in English, and so on. Always respond in the same language as the user’s inquiry.”
There is a chance that other Instructions or shortcuts/keywords/scenarios are impacting this.
