We ask for the phone number in the chat, phone numbers with space or under 7 characters are shown as invalid.
My suggestion is for the numbers to allow space or do not allow it at all, we can see special characters being allowed, like the + sign, allowing just about anything in the field and then deeming it invalid will not be a good idea.
Furthermore, once the phone number input is deemed invalid, it does not auto-refresh the field once the number is corrected, to correct it I must click in another input field, then come back to the number field, this will cause the phone number field to refresh and detect that the number is now valid.
Thank you for your feedback and suggestion, Nercado.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the phone number validation. We understand that it may be too sensitive, especially for international phone numbers, and we are currently looking into ways to improve the user experience in this regard.
In the meantime, we appreciate your suggestion of allowing space or not allowing it at all for phone numbers, and we will definitely take it into consideration as we continue to enhance our platform.
As a workaround, you can use the “Text input” field instead of the “Phone” field in the pre-chat form to avoid any limitations for users. We hope this helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any further suggestions or concerns.
