Encoded characters in referrer links

When looking at my list of visitors, if I click the “referrer” link, or the link to the page they are visiting, if there are ampersands in the URL, they are loaded into the browser as encoded (&amp)

So, the browser cannot load the page because it is not expecting the encoded &amp in the URL, it is just expecting the ampersand.

Firefox 152.0.4

Hi dedicatedpresentatio<

Thank you for reporting this.

From what you’ve described, it appears that when you click either the Referrer URL or the Current Page URL from the visitor list, any ampersands (& ) in the URL are being displayed as the HTML-encoded entity (& ). As a result, the browser treats & as part of the URL instead of converting it back to & , causing the page to fail to load correctly.

I was able to understand the issue based on the screenshot and your explanation. To help us investigate further, could you please confirm the following?

 • Does this happen with every visitor or only specific URLs?
 • Have you tested this in another browser (such as Chrome or Edge), and if so, does the same behavior occur there?
 • Could you also provide a sample URL (or the affected portion, if you need to redact sensitive information) where this occurs?

We’ll investigate this further once we have those details.

Regards,

Only certain URLS and not for every visitor. Although I am still testing exactly what causes the issue since it is not every time.

Yes, problem also occurs in Edge.

I would love to, but the form software prevents me from putting links in posts and PMs.
