Hi everyone,
I’d like to ask if it’s possible to add a feature in Tawk.to where, when all agents are busy, the visitor can see an estimated waiting time before an agent becomes available.
For example:
“All agents are currently busy. Estimated waiting time: 5 minutes.”
And while the visitor is waiting, the timer would automatically count down, for example: 4:59, 4:58, 4:57, etc.
Does Tawk.to have this feature already, or is there a way to implement it using JavaScript/API?
Thanks!
Hi!
At the moment, tawk.to can only display the average estimated waiting time when all agents are busy. We don’t currently have a feature that displays a live countdown timer (e.g., 4:59, 4:58, 4:57) on the visitor’s end.
What happens if agents continue to be held up or number of agents decreases? What happens when the clock hits zero and an agent doesn’t take the chat?
We don’t currently have a countdown timer for the waiting time. The value shown is the average waiting time , so it’s not a fixed timer that reaches zero.
If agents are still busy, the chat will remain in the queue until an agent becomes available to take it.
I was hoping Titas could provide more insight into their feature request
I understand. I’ll pass this along to our team for further review and see if this is something we can consider adding as a feature in the future.
