Odd display of contact name and email in tawk.to admin inbox

Hi all. I have about 30 chat transcripts in the tawk.to admin inbox that have an odd code displayed where the name and email are usually shown under the contact column. The screenshot below shows a sample of what this looks like. The transcripts are not all from AI chat agent interactions but also from live agents. I’ve never seen this before.

Has anyone else experienced this before?

yes that is the randon name that tawk.to assign to contacts that have not provided name or email.

When I click into one of those transcripts, the name and email are shown on the right side of the page under the Details tab, but that random code is shown on the top left.

No, I never resolved this issue. It went away on its own without any intervention, then this weekend it started to appear again. More than half of the chat transcripts over the weekend look like this.

So it could be caused by something that Tawk is doing on the backend (or one of Tawk’s backend services that has some intermittent downtime).

So this thread prompted me to attack this again - and i resolved the issue.

I reached out to support and they asked me to create a new property, which with zero other code changes, completely resolved the issue. They were unable to explain what was broken about my other property, which I’ve bee using for a year…but now i’m good?

Tawk is so buggy…
