Allow Custom Permissions by Section (Reduce Need for Full Admin Access)

Currently, access within Tawk.to is limited to broad roles such as Admin and Agent. In many cases, certain features (e.g. AI Assist and other settings) require full Admin access, which grants significantly more permissions than necessary.

It would be extremely valuable to introduce more granular, section-based permission controls. This would allow Admins to grant users access to specific areas of the platform (such as AI Assist, reporting, or settings) without providing full Admin rights.

This would be beneficial by:

  • Improving security and reducing the risk of unintended changes
  • Allowing safer training and onboarding of team members
  • Giving better control over who can access sensitive areas
  • Supporting larger teams with more structured role management
  • Encouraging wider adoption of advanced features without compromising access control

Overall, this would provide a more flexible, scalable, and secure way to manage teams within Tawk.to.
