Direct Chat Link: Subject or Question as parameter

It would be great and very useful if you could give a question as parameter to the Direct Chat Link. The link would open a discussion and show the answer from the correct topic. Instead of showing an empty chat page.

For example, if the standard Direct Chat Link is:
https://tawk.to/chat/ID/default

You could give a topic or question as parameter:
https://tawk.to/chat/ID/default?q=SUBJECT

Hi Mak3,

Thanks for the suggestion. That’s a great idea and we can definitely see how passing a question or topic via the Direct Chat Link would improve the user experience.

At the moment, tawk.to does not support adding parameters (such as ?q=subject) to prefill or trigger a specific question in the chat. The Direct Chat Link will always open a new, empty session.

That said, we agree this would be a very useful feature—especially for guiding conversations or linking users to specific topics. We’ll be sure to share this feedback with the team for consideration in future updates.

In the meantime, a possible workaround is to include context alongside the link (e.g., in your email or page), or use triggers/chatbots within tawk.to to guide the conversation after the chat opens.

Thanks again for taking the time to share this!

Regards,
