Display subcategories as articles in knowledge base

Hi there,

I tried to sort my articles using categories and subcategories in the knowledge base.

Expected behaviour:
I thought that on my main KBase page I would see the main categories. After clicking on one of them, see all the subcategories (as if they were articles). And after clicking on one subcategory, then finally see the articles in it.

Real behaviour:
I found that my main categories doesn’t display because there are no articles in them (directly). So it seems the KB is empty.
Once I managed to see this top level category page, I only saw the subcategories on the left hand side, which is not very clean for the end user.

Feature request:
It would be such a great thing to have an admin option that allows to display subcategories as if they were articles, and of course, display main categories that don’t have articles but do have subcategories in them.

Big thanks!

Hi @mauro.sp ,

Thank you so much for taking the time to clearly explain the behaviors, and your feature suggestion — we really appreciate the detailed feedback.

I completely understand how having main categories display even without direct articles, and allowing subcategories to appear like articles, would create a much cleaner and more intuitive experience for your end users. Your use case makes a lot of sense, especially for structured knowledge bases.

I’ll be passing this suggestion along to our team so they can review it and consider it for future updates. Feedback like yours is incredibly helpful in guiding improvements to the platform.

Thanks again for sharing this with us — we truly value your input!
