We are currently using two separate properties and widgets in Tawk.to — one for English and one for French.
For the French widget, we were able to successfully translate the Home tab content. However, we are facing an issue with the Messages tab, where certain default labels are not editable.
Specifically, we are unable to change the following labels into French:
- “Messages”
- “Recent”
- “Now”
- “Start a new chat”
We reached out to chat support, and they mentioned that this is not possible to customize at the moment.
Could anyone confirm if this is indeed a system limitation?
Or is there any workaround (e.g., custom widget, JavaScript injection, API, or localization settings) that would allow us to translate these labels?
Our goal is to provide a fully localized French experience for users, so any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
