I would like to report that something urgently needs to be updated for this application/site Tawk.
I have the app both on desktop and on my phone, and I also sometimes use the web version. A very BIG FLAW that needs to be fixed URGENTLY:
When I log into my account and check “remember me,” after some time it logs me out of the app by itself. This must not happen and it is very important.
As we all know, Tawk is mainly for websites and similar platforms where customers send you messages, and sometimes we may not even realize we’ve been logged out, which means we won’t receive messages and we lose customers.
It must be set so that you are always “logged in,” literally until you log out yourself.
Please, this is very important, one of the key aspects of sales, and this problem needs to be resolved as soon as possible.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand how critical it is for agents to remain logged in at all times, especially when handling real-time customer inquiries.
Even when the “Remember Me” option is enabled, sessions may still expire after a certain period of inactivity. This behavior is intentional and primarily related to security and account protection. Automatic logout helps prevent unauthorized access in cases such as shared devices, inactive sessions left open, or changes in network conditions.
That said, we completely understand your concern—tawk.to is designed for live customer engagement, and unexpected logouts can result in missed messages and potential loss of customers. While the system is expected to keep users logged in during active use, extended inactivity may still trigger a session timeout.
As a workaround, we recommend:
Ensuring the app remains open and active in the background
Disabling battery or app-optimization restrictions on mobile devices
Checking browser or system settings that may clear sessions automatically
Your feedback regarding longer session persistence is valid and has already been shared with our product team for consideration, as we continuously work to improve reliability for sales and support use cases.
We truly appreciate you taking the time to share this experience. Please let us know if you encounter this issue frequently or if it happens even during active use—we’ll be glad to investigate further.
I’m glad that you take this seriously and consider it important, because I also believe others see it as very important.
I understand you — this works fine for computers.
But when it comes to the mobile app, I can’t keep my phone unlocked all the time just so the app keeps running.
For example, if we’re traveling or in similar situations, we lose a lot because we might not receive notifications on the phone if we’ve been automatically logged out. It would be much better if the app could stay “unlocked,” meaning we continue receiving notifications and remain “logged in” until we manually log out, since you never know when someone might reach out.
That way, you don’t risk losing a potential client/customer, which is very bad.
I consider this extremely urgent and something that needs to be fixed as soon as possible.
